Sword Art Online is celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the anime’s original debut, and part of this celebration will include a new live-action stage play hitting Japan later this Fall! Reki Kawahara’s original light novel series has been running for quite a while, and the anime has exploded in popularity in the decade since its premiere. The franchise has since branched off into all sorts of anime sequels, movies, spin-off projects and more, and there was also word of a live-action series in the works several years back as well. But there’s yet to be any word on when that will happen.
