Hello October! This is the month of pretty trees, beer festivals and four weeks of getting ready for the big event on the last day of the month. But why celebrate on just one day when you can plan an entire month of super scary and haunted fun things to do in South Carolina? To make it super easy for you to plan, here’s a list of creepy things that are open or available all month so you can have an extra scary month-long Halloween in South Carolina.

Facebook/Deceased Farm The Deceased Farm is not for the faint of heart! In fact, it’s not recommended for persons under the age of 12, although they are permitted with an accompanying adult. From a super scary interactive haunted house, to being driven to and dropped off in the middle of a giant corn field to find your way out in the dark, this promises to be one creepy experience. Facebook/Booger Jim’s Hollow Booger Jim was a man who was supposedly hanged from a bridge by his wife. His ghost still haunts the area. At Booger Jim’s Hollow you can take a guided tour on Booger Jim’s Trail or brave Booger Jim’s haunted house all on your own. But…don’t come alone. More info here.

- The Tomb of Julia Legare - Edisto IslandOpen daily from dawn til dusk
YouTube/Tashas Creative Side Visit the tomb of Julia Legare - and Julia’s spirit, which is reportedly trapped here after being “buried alive” when she was believed dead and placed in this sealed tomb in the mid-1800s. When the family opened the tomb a few years later to place another family member’s remains in there, they found Julia’s bones in a pile by the door. There were also claw marks on the inside of the door where she’d tried desperately to get out. Reportedly, every time the door was placed back where it belonged, it was found removed the next day. Eventually, the caretakers gave up on the door and the tomb now stands open. You’ll find this graveyard at the Presbyterian Church on Edisto Island.There’s no charge to visit the tomb.

TripAdvisor/Lea A Visit this haunted fort that is said to be visited by the ghost of a confederate soldier who was beheaded in a fight over moonshine on these grounds before this fort was erected.
