Call of Duty: Warzone 2’s proximity chat is sure to be the best feature added to this new iteration of the free-to-play battle royale based on the videos going around. Call of Duty is an extremely competitive game and it has its roots in a community-driven multiplayer. During the “golden age” of Call of Duty on Xbox 360 and PS3, players would have to go into game chat and talk to other players. This resulted in a lot of toxicity that people are now oddly nostalgic for. It was toxic, but some found it fun to trash talk other people. The rise of cross-play meant many have been using game chat once again to talk, resulting in a bit of a return to that old-school feel in Call of Duty lobbies.
